Radio DJ Karen Bordador and her boy friend Emilio Lim were captured after a buy bust operation in Pasig City. As per a report on TV Patrol, roughly P3 million worth of euphoria, maryjane, and cannabis oil were found at an apartment suite unit in Pasig City on Saturday, August 13. Additionally found at the unit were medication gear, cash, and a cash checking machine. Senior Superintendent Tomas Apolinario told TV Patrol, "Itong operation na ito ay bunga ng direktiba ng ating boss PNP (Philippine National Police), na sugpuin ang ilegal na droga dito sa mga top of the line clubs tsaka sa mga bars." (This operation is because of a mandate from our boss PNP, that we ought to stifle the illicit medications that can be found at top of the line clubs and bars.) "Siya [Lim] ang itinuturo na malaking nagsusupply sa mga nagtutulak sa mga clubs sa Makati at sa BGC (He [Lim] is said to be a major supplier among the individuals who push drugs at clubs in Makati and BGC)," included Apolinario, in a report on 24 Oras. He said that the clients in those territories range from understudies and young people to well off individuals and superstars. "Ito ang mga bumibili sa kanila (These are the general population who are purchasing drugs from them)," he said on TV Patrol. In the same 24 Oras report, Bordador can be heard saying: "Wala po akong ginagawa... bumisita lang ako." (I wasn't doing anything... I just went by.)
